I like this book so I shall review it...However, if your looking to buy a set from this author I would strongly urge you to reconsider. I have now purchased most of this guys works and I can't tell one from the other. except for some minor rephrasing and a rare slim nugget this fellow has written a whole library, and all of them say practically the very same thing. Sure there may be one new exercise in one that wasn't included in some other, but essentially this fellow has mastered the art of saying the exact same thing about the exact same thing in all his books...very frustrating for those wanting a variety to pool from.
...this book may just be able to pull it off.
This book was referred to me by international Gold Medalist and Tai Chi instructor and author, Jana Graves. It is a good book for you Tai Chi library.
Very intense reading that will take time to assimilate.
This book is very thorough from explaining the roots of tai chi, to the different styles practiced now and why. I agree with others that this may not be for rank beginners. Basic knowledge of stances and postures are needed, and best critiqued by competent instructor. It's very thorough and a joy to read so you can place your learning level at the appropriate place for your ability. Would highly recommend for anyone with basic knowledge of any of the other styles. Dropping my blood pressure and centering chi.
Aside from WKK's typical need for a better editor with a more daring hand, this is a worthy addition to any Taiji practitioner's library.
